As part of The Beatles Sgt Pepper 50th Anniversary Celebrations, Radio Merseyside brought together 64 choirs on the 9th of June to sing ‘When I’m 64’.
The Brain Charity choir were honoured to be chosen to take part in this amazing event and, as part of the celebrations, were interviewed on the Sean Styles show on BBC Radio Merseyside about what the song meant to them and how it felt to belong to such a unique choir (all members either have a neurological condition or care for someone who does).
The choir also featured on BBC North West Tonight along with some of the other choirs who had taken part. Choir member Emily said, “We were all a bit nervous about getting it right on the day as we were live streaming our performance, but everything went well and it was really good fun.”We’re so proud of our choir and all that they’ve achieved in the 18 months since they came together. New members are always welcome, no experience is needed, and you never know you may end up on TV too!
