Meningioma research project now recruiting

Meningioma research project now recruiting was created by The Brain Charity
A Meningioma is a type of growth that can form on the tissues which surround the brain or spinal cord. Based on experience and prior research we know that having this diagnosis has the potential to negatively impact on an individual’s quality of life, as well as their ability to think and concentrate, but we need to involve more people with meningioma in research to understand this better.

A team of researchers from Edge Hill University is offering an exciting opportunity to be involved in clinical research to improve understanding of the effect of meningioma on quality of life. They will host focus group discussions at The Brain Charity later this year (date and time TBC). This will be a safe and informal space where people can come and discuss their experiences of life with a meningioma, which will provide fresh insights into the realities of living with the condition.

We believe that this is an area ripe for research and that information gained from the focus group will be both interesting and useful. This information will be particularly valuable when counselling people in the future and will help us to provide better support and guidance.

If you think you might be interested in getting involved please email Dr Geraint Sunderland with your contact details and an information pack will be sent out to you.
