George Howarth Visits The Brain Charity
News

George Howarth, the MP for Knowsley, dropped in to see us recently to find out more about the work that our advocacy services do and to meet some of our staff who’ve joined us through the ILM scheme, which is aimed at helping those who have difficulty finding a way into the job market.

The visit was prompted by our chair of trustees, Bill Chambers, and staff member John Mather meeting Mr Howarth at an event at The Houses of Parliament recently. The event was held by the Disability Benefits Consortium (of which we are a member) to launch our important new report into the economic impact on disabled people of government changes to welfare benefits.

You can read the full report, which is called ‘Has Welfare Become Unfair’ by cllicking here.
