Merseylink is a FREE Merseyside based dial a ride service for people who have mobility problems, or who cannot easily use public transport.
A minibus type vehicle will collect you from your door and deliver you to your chosen destination then pick you up again and return you home. You choose your own pick up times and the bus company will try their best to stick to these depending on customer demand and traffic conditions.
The company aims to deliver you to your destination within an hour, but again it’s dependant on how many pickups/drop-offs they have along the way.
The vehicles are all wheelchair friendly, with secure anchorage, so you’re able to complete your journey in your wheelchair if you wish. There are ramps and low steps onto the bus and wide, comfortable seats which all have their own seat belt (the driver will ensure your seatbelt is secure before your journey starts, which is great for anyone with reduced dexterity).
All of the drivers are friendly, caring people who are aware of the needs and specific issues of people with mobility problems and they will make sure that your journey is as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
They will even assist you getting on and off the bus and look after any mobility equipment that you have with you: walking frames, rollators, etc. You can also have a companion or carer travel with you and you can travel anywhere within the Merseyside region.

Accessible ‘dial a ride’ schemes like this operate all over the UK. If you live outside of Merseyside, you can find your local provider using the Community Transport Association website here.
