Head Matters 2026
Our annual open day
Every year, we open our doors and invite our community inside for Head Matters, The Brain Charity’s annual open day.
Head Matters is a chance to discover who we are, what we do, and how we support people living with neurological conditions. Whether you already know us, support someone who does, or have simply passed our building and wondered what happens inside, this day is for you.
This year’s focus: Mental health
Each year, Head Matters shines a spotlight on a different theme connected to life with neurological conditions. This year, we’re focusing on mental health.
Living with a neurological condition can affect every part of life — including emotional wellbeing, confidence, relationships and daily routines. Mental health support is a vital part of the holistic care and community we aim to provide, and this year’s event will explore that connection in a welcoming and practical way.
What to expect on the day

Head Matters is designed to be relaxed, informative and enjoyable for everyone. Throughout the day you can take part in:
- Talks from experts and lived-experience speakers
- Interactive activities and demonstrations
- Information and support stalls
- Opportunities to meet our team, partners and community
Whether you stay for an hour or the whole day, there will be plenty to see, do, and learn.
An open invitation to everyone

Head Matters is open to everyone:
- People living with neurological conditions
- Family members, friends and carers
- Professionals and students
- Curious neighbours and members of the community
If you want to learn more about neurological conditions, mental health, or the support available in Liverpool, we’d love to welcome you.
We hope you’ll join us for a day of learning, connection and community.
