Our new Neurodiversity Awareness in the Workplace E-Learning

At The Brain Charity, we know that change doesn’t start with policy—it starts with people. That’s why our new Neurodiversity Awareness in the Workplace E-Learning course is about more than just compliance or box-ticking—it’s about building empathy, understanding, and confidence in supporting neurodivergent colleagues.

Everyone’s learning journey is different—just like everyone’s brain. That’s why we created something flexible, grounded in real experience, and made for people who genuinely want to make a difference.  Whether you’re starting from scratch or deepening existing knowledge, our Neurodiversity Awareness in the Workplace E-Learning is a step toward a more inclusive future.

This 60 to 90-minute, self-paced training was created by people with lived experience of neurodivergence. The content, structure, and tone all reflect the insight of individuals who have navigated the workplace from a different perspective—and who now use that experience to help others build inclusive environments.

It’s designed for any professional who wants to be a better ally to those neurodiverse individuals in their lives. You don’t need to be an expert to get started—just open to learning.

What makes this course different?

A purchase of the course comes with a three-month license allowing the e-learning to fit your schedule without sacrificing depth. You can dip in and out in short sessions, across desktop or mobile, and still walk away with a meaningful understanding of what neurodiversity means and what it requires from us in the workplace.

Our course has been designed with different learning styles in mind, making it accessible for as many people as possible. Through interactive videos, voice overs, case studies and scenario-based learning, the course explores:

  • What neurodiversity really is, beyond the buzzwords
  • The challenges and strengths of neurodivergent colleagues
  • Practical ways to reduce barriers, adapt recruitment, and meet your legal responsibilities

At the end, there’s a knowledge check to reinforce learning—and a downloadable certificate for your CV.

Lived experience, built-in

Unlike many training products, our e-learning course wasn’t written at a distance. It was shaped by the same people who deliver our in-person neurodiversity sessions across the UK—trainers like Gregory, Snoof, and Hannah. Each brings a different background and set of experiences.

Greg providing ND Training

Gregory talks about the emotional impact the training can have:

“I find it very rewarding how emotionally resonant people find our training, and there are so many people affected who, for the first time, feel equipped to talk about a condition.”

Snoof uses their creative practice and personal journey to challenge stigma head-on. Hannah brings clarity as someone with a lived experience who knows the experience firsthand.

Their perspectives, stories and real-world examples are embedded throughout the course—making abstract ideas feel personal and relevant.

Designed to be used—and useful

This isn’t passive learning. It’s made to give you something you can act on immediately—whether that’s a new way of thinking about communication, a change to how you write job specs, or a better understanding of how your workplace culture affects disclosure.

Every purchase supports The Brain Charity’s frontline work, so while you’re investing in a better workplace culture, you’re also helping us provide support, advice, and community to thousands of people with neurological conditions across the UK. £26 could pay for a counselling session supporting a carer to balance their responsibilities with their own need for self-care. That means that your £28 purchase of this training course not only equips you to be a better colleague and friend to a neurodiverse individual; it also means that someone in crisis can get the vital support they need because of you.

Pricing and access

The e-learning course costs £28 per user for three months of access, and group discounts are available for organisations wanting to train their teams. If you’d prefer to pay by invoice, need help enrolling multiple users, or want to combine e-learning with live workshops, our training team is happy to help.
