Directions to The Brain Charity

By Car

From the M62:

Continuing straight at end of M62, take left hand lane.
Continue straight (approx. 2 miles) passing Edge Hill Lane Retail Park on left and follow signs for City Centre A5047 and Albert Dock.
Follow signs for Cathedrals and University (left hand lane).
Follow road to the left - taking right hand lane, pass St Mary's Church Edge Hill.
Follow road to the right and continue down the hill staying in right hand lane.
Follow signs for Lime Street Rail Station and continue through traffic lights.
The Royal Liverpool Hospital will be on your right.
Continue on to Pembroke Place which goes into London Road.
T J Hughes will be on your right hand side (get into right hand lane).
Turn right into Norton Street at the traffic lights.
You will see a big blue building on the corner.
The Brain Charity is on the left. We have a car park, although spaces are limited and mostly designated for blue badge holders only.  There is no parking available for conference delegates who should use the facilities indicated in the 'Car Parks' section below.

 

From the M53 (Wirral/Chester):

From the Kingsway (Wallasey)Tunnel, take right hand lane at tunnel exit and follow signs for City Centre. Continue straight ahead, taking either of the left hand lanes (signs for Warrington, Manchester, M62 and Royal Liverpool Hospital) into New Islington (passing a large, grey tiled, multi-story building on left).
Take right hand lane, turning right at main set of traffic lights into Norton Street (signs for Ring Road, Lime Street Station and University).
The National Coach Station will be on your right. You will be able to see The Brain Charity on the other side of the road.
There are four pay-and-display car parks, if you turn left into Kempston Street opposite The Brain Charity (on the corner of Kempston Street, there is a large, grey tiled, multi-story building).
To park at The Brain Charity itself, which has spaces that are mostly designated for blue badge holders only, you will need to carry straight on at the junction with London Road in the right hand lane.
You can turn back on yourself, turning right half way up Seymour Street into Nelson Street and then St. Vincent Street. This will bring you back to the same junction where you can go straight ahead on to Norton Street.

From the M58/A59 (North Liverpool):

Proceed to end of motorway, take exit marked A59 Liverpool.
Pass Aintree Racecourse and follow signs to City Centre (approx. 7 miles).
Continue straight on A59 (Scotland Road) - traffic from Kingsway (Wallasey) tunnel exit will join road.
Take either of the left hand lanes (signs for Warrington, Manchester, M62 and Royal Liverpool Hospital) into New Islington (passing a large, grey tiled, multi-story building on left).

Car Parks

On Kempston Street, L3 8NG, (behind T. J. Hughes), there are four pay-and-display car parks.  There are also car parks nearby on Fraser Street and at Liverpool Lime Street Station.

On Foot from Liverpool Lime Street Train Station

Liverpool Lime Street Inter-City Station is less than five minutes walk from The Brain Charity.
Facing the departures and arrival boards, leave the station at the exit on your left.
Turn right at the taxi rank, and immediately left (narrow street with Ma Egerton's Pub). This street is called Pudsey Street and runs at the back of the Empire Theatre.
At the end of the street turn right into London Road.
Cross over at the pedestrian lights, and walk up London Road to the next major junction, where there is a large blue building on the corner.
Turn left into Norton Street. The Brain Charity is on the left.

 

By Bus

Many bus routes run near The Brain Charity. The No. 58 stops outside our property on Norton Street. Bus Numbers 8,9,10,10A, 10B, 12, 13, 14, 14A, 14B, 14X, 15, 17,18, 19,21,101 and 530 also stop nearby, outside T.J. Hughes, on London Road.

Alternatively, you can call Merseytravel for details of buses - telephone 0151 236 7676 or 0870 6082608, Minicom 0870 241 2216 between the hours of 7am-8pm Monday to Friday and 8am-8pm on Saturday, Sunday as well as Bank Holidays.  If you have problems getting around and can't use public transport easily perhaps you could join Merseytravel's Merseylink dial-a-ride bus service which will drop you off at our door.
