Meet our fundraiser: Christine

“Running the Vitality 10k was a really meaningful experience.”

Running isn’t just about reaching the finish line — it’s about the reason behind every step. For Christine Cheung, taking part in the Vitality London 10k was a way to honour loved ones, raise awareness, and support a cause close to her heart.

Running for those who inspire her

Christine chose to fundraise for The Brain Charity because of her personal experiences with neurological conditions.

“My mum passed away from a brain tumour, and a close friend is living with Parkinson’s. These conditions —  and many others that affect the brain  —  touch so many lives, yet the charities supporting them are often overlooked.”

Her story is one of love, remembrance, and purpose. What began as a personal challenge soon evolved into a meaningful tribute — and an act of compassion that extended far beyond the race itself.

A day to remember

“Running the Vitality 10k was a really meaningful experience. I took part in honour of my mum, who passed away from a brain tumour, and my close friend who lives with Parkinson’s.

It felt good to support the amazing work The Brain Charity does for people with neurological conditions and their families.

I was so moved by friends and neighbours’ generosity, and by the incredible atmosphere on the day — to see so many people running for something that matters to them.”

Christine raised an incredible £1,000 for The Brain Charity, helping us continue providing vital support, counselling, and practical help to people across the UK affected by neurological conditions.

Making a difference that lasts

Christine’s story reminds us that every fundraiser, no matter the distance, helps make real change possible. Her dedication shows how a single act — one race, one person, one story — can honour loved ones and bring hope to others.

Support Christine’s impact

Every pound raised helps The Brain Charity empower people to live longer, healthier, and happier lives after a neurological diagnosis.
