Tim Walsh

Welcoming Tim Walsh as Deputy Chair of The Brain Charity’s Board of Trustees

Congratulations Tim

We’re pleased to announce that Tim Walsh FCA, our long-serving Treasurer, has been appointed as Deputy Chair of the Board of Trustees

Tim has been part of The Brain Charity’s journey since 2015, initially joining as a volunteer before becoming a trustee and then Treasurer. Over the past decade, he has provided steadfast financial guidance and governance expertise through his work with the Board and our Finance & Governance Committee.

This new role is both a recognition of Tim’s ongoing dedication and a formal step to acknowledge the additional support he has generously offered during a time of transition for the organisation.

Supporting us through change

Following the departure of our CEO, Pippa, Tim has played an instrumental role in helping steady the ship—giving his time, insight and encouragement to both staff and fellow trustees. His appointment as Deputy Chair reflects his willingness to go above and beyond, and his continued commitment to helping lead The Brain Charity through its next chapter. Tim is Liverpool-based, which means that will be on hand to represent the Charity at key events when our Chair, Gus Baker, is not available.

A personal connection

Tim brings a wealth of professional knowledge from a career with PwC, where he worked in a variety of roles as a Chartered Accountant. But what makes his contribution to The Brain Charity particularly special is the personal connection he has to our cause.

Having supported both of his parents through dementia, Tim understands first-hand the challenges faced by individuals and families affected by neurological conditions. His lived experience informs his passion for our work and strengthens the values-led approach he brings to his role as a trustee.

Looking ahead

As Deputy Chair, Tim will work closely with the Board and leadership team to help ensure stability, good governance and strong support for our staff, services and community. We are incredibly grateful for his continued dedication, and we’re proud to have him helping guide our work at such a pivotal time.
