Sarah at our craft club

Sarah had a mechanical stroke following a head-on road traffic accident in 2016 and was left with life-altering injuries that affect her mobility, vision, speech and memory. Sarah can no longer drive and requires full time care which is provided by her long-term partner and two paid carers who work on rotation.

What is it about glamorous good-looking women? Why do they always seem to go out of their way to make the rest of us feel small (or fat, or wrinkly or poor)? Any woman feeling a bit low on self-esteem has been there. The dreaded first walk in to a new hairdressers, the disapproving look from the glamour puss behind the counter. And that long hard stare they make you give yourself in the mirror whilst they ask, “Do you dye your own hair then?” and “Wow! You’ve got a lot of grey haven’t you?”

Laura and Debbie

Laura was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia five years ago; she’s also recently been diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) as well as non epileptic seizures. Laura attends our craft, computer and photography classes along with her wife Debbie and they both enjoy coming along to our monthly coffee mornings.
